The Edo Komon Style for both formal and casual scenes
From a distance, the Edo Komon may seem to appear as a plain-colored kimono, however, when looked closely, it is actually formed of extremely delicate repeated patterns.
As per its name, the technique of Edo komon (small patterns) were developed during the Edo period, and this technique is still being used today to create new patterns.
kimono fit® has tailored a kimono using one of the most popular ‘shark komon pattern’
The ‘Komon’ type kimonos are generally regarded as a stylish kimono, which is not suitable for formal occasions.
However, the ‘Edo Komon’ type, can be worn for both casual and formal events depending on the type of Obi belt it is worn with.
The ‘Some-obi’ or the ‘Nagoya-obi’ are recommended for casual outings or lessons, while the ‘Ori-no-fukuro obi’ is recommended for semi-formal scenes.
If you add a crest (kamon), it will be equivalent to the traditional ‘Hitotsu-mon’ kimono style.

The "Reversible Taiko Obi" included in this package has a gold & silver lining on one-side for formal occasions, while the other side uses the Liberty print fabric for a more casual occasion.

We have also included in this package some accessories to complement the kimono, so you do not need to purchase any other items to complete the kimono.
